Cascade Shops Renovation

This was a comprehensive interior and exterior renovation to Banff’s only interior shopping and mixed-use complex. The collabor8 renovation brought back the luster to Banff’s crown jewel. Built in 1985, Cascade Plaza had since faded into the background in Banff’s retail market. The 2014 renovation began with an upgrade to the glass arcade that wraps around the exterior of the building and the addition of a new, dramatic glass and steel front entrance feature to welcome the customers. Interior renovations to all the common areas created a much more comfortable public environment to encourage shopping and lingering to lengthen the customer stay. The project also included a dramatic 3 storey interpretive sculpture hanging from the centre of the atrium dome that celebrates the history of skiing, something very dear to the community.
